Congratulations!
The Blue group got off to a good start at the first meet of the season. It was clear that the hard work
they’ve been doing is paying off as many personal best times and qualifying time standards were achieved.
We were happy to have our newest LIAC members, Kaitlin Hsieh and Tyquann Walker on the deck with
us. They look great in red and blue! Special congratulations to Tyquann who got his first JO cut and 536 point
swim in the 100 breaststroke. Welcome to the 500 club Tyquann! Two other blue group swimmers had 500 point swims this weekend. Daniel Sohn earned 517 points and a silver cut for his 100 breaststroke. -----Kasper Buchen earned 526 points in the 50 free and 503 points in the 100. Kasper swam a best time and earned a silver cut in every event he swam, making him the blue group’s, “Swimmer of the Meet.” Way to go Kasper!
The blue group clearly has their sights set on this season’s qualifying time standards. Kieran Brown got
JO cuts in the 100 back as well as 100 free. He earned silver cuts in 3 of his other swims. In all, the blue group achieved 77 silver champs cut times. It’s easy to see that the blue group is getting prepared for an awesome season of racing. They know
that what they do at practice determines what they do at their meets and are learning the importance of hard work, focus, and attention to details. Less than 3 weeks to go before they’re racing again at Viking and
Maryland…!
