Dave Ferris, National Team
Head Coach/Director Dave Ferris is the founder of Long Island Aquatic
Club and has served as its Head coach since 1979. Ferris
has been a USA Swimming National Team Coach since 1995. Since
that time he has served as a Coach for USA teams competing at
the World University Games, (Korea 2003) and National Junior
Team Competition, (Australia 2006). His swimmers have competed
nationally and internationally for the United States winning
national championships and medaling at international competitions.
Under Ferris’s direction Long Island Aquatic Club has grown from a small team of 40 swimmers into one of the finest grass-roots programs in the country. LIAC has been a USA Swimming National Team of Excellence since the programs inception in 2002. Since
1990 LIAC has one more Metropolitan and Northeast Sectional Championships
than any other Metropolitan team.
Ferris holds a Bachelors degree from Springfield College, Ma. and a Masters degree from Adelphi University.
