| Dave
Ferris, National Team |
Head
Coach/ Director Dave Ferris is the founder of Long Island Aquatic
Club and has served as its Head coach since 1979. Ferris
has been a USA Swimming National Team Coach since 1995. Since
that time he has served as a Coach for USA teams competing at
the World University Games, (Korea 2003) and National Junior
Team Competition, (Australia 2006). His swimmers have competed
nationally and internationally for the United States winning
national championships and medaling at international competitions.
Under Ferris’s direction Long Island Aquatic Club has grown from a small team of 40 swimmers into one of the finest grass-roots programs in the country. LIAC has been a USA Swimming National Team of Excellence since the programs inception in 2002. Since
1990 LIAC has one more Metropolitan and Northeast Sectional Championships
than any other Metropolitan team.
Ferris holds a Bachelors degree from Springfield College, Ma. and a Masters degree from Adelphi University. |
| Ginny
Nussbaum, National Team |
Associate
Head Coach Ginny Nussbaum has been with Long Island Aquatic Club
as a coach since 1989. A former LIAC swimmer Ginny has served as LIAC’s Head Age Group Coach for 8 years before moving to her position as a national team coach in 1998. She is instrumental in transitioning LIAC swimmers from the age group level to senior level swimming and is directly responsible for the development of many of LIAC’s
national level swimmers.
Well respected at the national level, Ginny
has been a member of the USA Swimming Club
Development Committee. Ginny hold a Bachelors degree from Saint Bonaventure and a Masters from Adelphi University.

| Alexis
Skelos, Senior
Team |
Alexis
serves as LIAC's Senior Team Coach working primarily
with swimmers 13 and up. In that role Alexis is responsible
for molding swimmers with varying abilities and backgrounds into
competitive
swimmers who are prepared to reach their potential. Alexis
started her swimming career with LIAC. She
brings a wealth of knowledge of technique and competition to the
program.
Alexis serves as the site director of Long Island Swim School. She
is a graduate of William & Mary. |
| Gabriella
Sofia, Junior Team |
Gabriella
joined the coaching staff in the spring of 2007. Gabby is a former
national level swimmer. |
