Detailed information about the meet can be found on our website: https://www.longislandswimming.com/hosted-meets.html.
Some relays will be at the beginning, and some will be at the end of the session on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We will inform the swimmers of their relay assignments on the day of the race. All athletes should be prepared to swim in relays!
All athletes are to remain at their session until their age group's completion or will be released by Gabby B and myself.
Swimmers are to arrive, remain on the deck during the competition and leave in LIAC attire only. Wear a Red LIAC t-shirt on Friday, White on Saturday, and Blue on Sunday. Don’t forget to pack healthy snacks, lots of Gatorade, and water!

Fueling and hydrating before competition are essential to replenish energy stores and optimize hydration status. I attached a great source of information about fueling your athletes for competition to this email. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about it.
Please check your kid’s team apparel for the coming meets. It includes a RED, WHITE, and Blue LIAC t-shirt, LIAC shorts, warm-up pants, and a jacket. Please ensure your athletes have extra goggles and LIAC swim cap in their backpacks if needed. We want our athletes to be fully prepared to rock and roll.
With only a few official weeks of winter left, an approaching storm could finally bring some snow to New York. Please stay tuned for any unexpected changes to our practice schedule.
I hope everyone stays cozy, warm, and healthy!
Happy Hump Day!
I hope you all had a romantic Valentine’s day.

Please continue encouraging your swimmers to eat nutritious food, stay hydrated, and sleep well.
AG1 Newsletter - 2/6
I would like to acknowledge the efforts of AG1 swimmers at the practice last week. The kids were on fire! "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself." – Henry Ford.
At this time of the season, it is essential for athletes to take vitamins, eat nutritious food and have a minimum of 8 hours of sleep to boost their performance in the pool. Eating a wide variety of foods, including whole grains, vegetables, fruit, dairy foods, alternatives, lean protein sources, and healthy fats, will help athletes to ensure that vitamin and mineral needs are met.
The whole family may need to get organized for healthy eating – this can offer an excellent opportunity to encourage good food and fluid intake for everyone!

I have noticed many AG1 athletes are missing the required equipment for our training. Please check your athlete’s mash bag to see if they have: a snorkel, paddles, pull buoy, ankle strap, short & long fins, and drag suit. I highly recommend writing your child’s name on it. Our lost and found box gets loaded with the equipment we find after practice. Unfortunately, we don’t know who it belongs to.
That is all at this time. Have a lovely week.
