The Long Island Swimming Stroke Clinic is the ideal program for swimmers who want to improve their four competitive strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. Swimmers practice and apply drills to improve their technique, making their strokes more efficient. Our trained instructors work with each child in a small group to guarantee individual progress. Swimmers build their overall stamina and endurance in addition to improving their strokes. Many swimmers in the program progress to the next level, our competitive swim team.

The 2020 Winter Stroke Clinic session runs now until March 15th. If you're interested in joining the Stroke Clinic program email Gabby at strokeclinic@longislandswimming.com
January STROKE CLINIC SWIMMERS OF THE MONTH
Picture
Stefonn is in the Beginner Red Stroke Clinic and is one of the hardest workers I have ever had the pleasure to coach! He has committed himself to practicing his Butterfly timing and his Breaststroke kick and his progress is really showing in the pool. He faces every challenge with a smile that quickly spreads to the rest of class. His love for swimming shows every time he walks onto the pool deck combined with his hard work is the reason why he is nominated for swimmer of the month! Keep it up Steffon!

Thea Hurst just moved up to the Intermediate White Stroke Clinic from our Beginner Red Stroke Clinic, showing a great passion for swimming! She is working on her big swing in Freestyle and always asks questions on how to correct her strokes. She challenges herself with using the snorkel and was able to understand immediately how to work with it. She is always ready to help her swim buddies in her class with a big smile! Way to go, Thea!

Breanna Vernet is in our Advanced Blue Stroke Clinic this Winter and is very eager to swim and learn each week. She always walks in with all her equipment with a big smile on her face and says hello to all the coaches on deck. She is always paying attention and asks questions when she doesn’t understand something. She likes to know what she has to improve on to make her strokes better. Breanna attends class every week and is always excited to help other swimmers in the group. We are looking forward to watching and helping her continue to grow as a swimmer, Great work Breanna!

Beginner Red Stroke Clinic is the first level of our stroke clinic program. Swimmers who have completed the Long Island Swim School Lane 4, or who have been evaluated by our instructors are eligible for this group. Swimmers at this level Children in Long Island Swimming's Beginner Red Stroke Clinic will be introduced to basic swimming drills to improve their technique and build endurance. Classes are 40 minutes long and run at our Garden City location, 750 F. Stewart Ave and our Syosset location, 170 Michael Drive. You can choose which location best works with your family.
Intermediate White Stroke Clinic
is for swimmers who have completed the Beginner Stroke clinic, or who have otherwise been evaluated by our staff. Children in this class will build upon the drills they have already learned, and work to improve their technique and endurance further. White Stroke Clinic classes are 50 minutes long and run out of the Nassau County Aquatic Center and our Syosset location. The Intermediate swimmers get invited to compete in internal mini-meets with their similar aged peers and abilities.

Advanced Blue Stroke Clinic is for swimmers who have completed the Beginner Red Stroke Clinic, and Intermediate White Stroke Clinic or who have otherwise been evaluated. Swimmers at this level have built a strong foundation in their four strokes and continue to build their endurance to further improve in the sport. Advanced Blue Stroke Clinic classes are 50 minutes long and run out of the Nassau County Aquatic Center and our Syosset location. The Advanced swimmers get invited to compete in internal mini-meets with their similar aged peers and abilities.
Young Adult Stroke Clinic are swimmers ages 12-15 years old, have completed previous stroke clinics or who have otherwise been evaluated by our staff. Our Young Adult stroke clinic class offers students the opportunity to learn and develop skills alongside their similar aged peers. Swimmers will build upon the drills they have already learned, and work to improve their technique and endurance further. While swimming once a week allows for improvement, we always encourage and recommend if your schedule allows to swim twice a week. The more consistent time spent in the pool helps with the progress in and out of the pool.
