LIAC Family BBQ Slideshow of Splashes, Fun & Regatta!

LIAC Family BBQ - June 15 3:00-7:00pm

Which Boat will be the first name on the trophy!!! 

REGATTA RULES
  • Teams of 3 to 6 children and 1 Adult
  • Boat Building to Begin @ 4:15PM
  • Each team is given up to 1 hour to build their boat
  • Races to Start @ 5:15PM
BOAT BUILDING
  • Design of your boat is up to you
  • The only materials you may use to build your boat, oars and/or paddles include:
    • 2 cardboard boxes
    • Roll of adhesive duct tape
  • Decorating your boat is encouraged but not supplied – Bring Crayons, Markers, PomPoms etc..
  • Boats are subject to inspection and may be disqualified for not meeting any one of the stated rules

RACE
  • Race course consists of a lap at the Freedom Pool; Teams must paddle their boat themselves – no extra swimmers allowed!
  • Depending on the number of entered teams, the Race may include prelim heats and a final heat of prelim winners
  • Each team must place up to 2 children in their boat
  • Boats can be propelled by oars, paddles, or "convenient body parts." Oars or paddles may be constructed of cardboard only. No outside paddles, shovels, or motors allowed 😊
  • Boats are required to stay in their lanes. Bumping, ramming, or interfering with other vessels in any manner is prohibited!

  • “LIAC Derby First Prize” - The first boat to the Final Finish line will receive the LIAC Regatta Trophy and team awards!
  • A “LIAC Team Commitment Award” will be granted for effort! (Head Judge call!)
  • A "Titanic Team Award" will be granted for the most spectacular sinking!!! (Head Judge call!)
