Tradition of Excellence

Long Island Aquatic Club (LIAC) has consistently been the top performing New York City Metropolitan Area swim club for the past 20 years. Recognized as one of the most elite competitive swim programs in the United States, we consistently field one of the top 20 teams in USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championships and our teams have won Junior National, Sectional, Senior Metropolitan, and Junior Olympic titles.

  • LIAC Girls won USA Junior National Championship August 2019
  • LIAC has competed in the last five United States Swimming Olympic Trials with 17 different swimmers.
  • LIAC has won an unprecedented 22 consecutive Junior Metropolitan Team Championships.
  • LIAC has finished 2nd in the country at the USA Junior National Championships twice in the last 15 years.
  • Since 2000, LIAC has won 22 out of a possible 32 overall Senior Metropolitan Team Championships.
  • LIAC has developed five USA Senior National or NCAA Division I Individual Swimming Champions.
  • LIAC has sent swimmers to nearly 100 university swim programs, including all eight Ivy League schools.
 
Recent Honors
  • LIAC finished 5th in the nation and was recognized as a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club for 2018 and 2019
  • Coach Ginny Nussbaum was selected and represented Team USA as a Coach at the World Junior Championships in Budapest in August of 2019 and at the Junior Pan Pacific Games in Hawaii in August 2022
  • LIAC member Jason Louser represented Team USA at the World Junior Championships in 2019 and place 4th.
  • LIAC member Maggie Aroesty represented Team USA in the World Junior Championships in 2015.
  • LIAC has 3 current members on the USA National Junior Team
  • LIAC set the 11-12 year old girls’ 4x100 Freestyle USA national record in 2015. 
  • LIAC finished 11th out of 2500 USA Swim Clubs in the 2017 Long Course Season in USA Swimming Virtual Club Championship.
