Hi Friends!
I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy a little break from your online school classes - just like any other Monday we are back at it today! Here is the theme for the week: Monday - Crazy Sock Day Tuesday - Twinning Tuesday Wednesday - Wear your Pijamas Thursday - Disney / Marvel Character Day Friday - Relay Fun Friday I look forward to seeing you all at drylands later. Stay smart and do good work today! It's a beautiful day! Get out there and enjoy it! If you're looking for some family fun or just a good old sibling rivalry challenge - break out your gear and try a backyard relay! Have fun! And don't forget to get a picture of your parents with a cap on!
See you and your pets later for dryland! Alexis Not sure about you guys, but my legs are SORE!!!! I thought we might try this exercise today? Just kidding! DONT TRY THAT AT HOME! :) I was trying to come up with ideas for some extra fun during dryland next week. Dance party? Simon says? Email me your ideas! See you later- & don't forget your goggles!!! Hi Friends! It's Wednesday and that means we are half way through the week! I hope your school work is going well and that you are enjoying some relaxing time with your family. Coach Dave shared this with us today so I thought it would pass it on to you. Working hard to be successful is something you will need to do in every aspect of your life. School, sports, music, art, and someday in your profession. What you learn about hard work in the pool, and the success that comes from that effort is something you can take into many aspects of your life. And, while the end result is important in motivating you, that should never be only reason you put in the work. The journey and effort you put in to get there can be a reward in itself. Even though you are still so young, hopefully this is a lesson you can take away from swimming - and from this experience in particular! Looking forward to some hard work at dryland later! Crazy hair day (and I hear crazy leg day)- here we come! Alexis Good Morning! Hope everyone abs are nice and sore and that you are excited for this beautiful sunny day! I know Copper is!
Thanks to Veronica, Vic, Matteo, Natalie, Joe, and Caroline for doing the positive mindset activity already - you guys were speedy! It was great to read your responses and get some insight into what makes you "tick" as swimmers. I look forward to reading more of your responses over the next few days. Get some sun, get outside, and see you at dryland for Jersey day! Alexis Hi Friends!
We miss your faces - can't wait to see everyone at dryland later - don't forget 5:30 and wear Red! I was trying to think of some fun stuff we can do together during our Zoom sessions, so I figured we could start with spirit week... You don't have to go crazy - and please just use things you already have around the house - get creative!!! (no need to create extra work for your parents) But hopefully we can get our LIAC Blue Team spirit going - even virtually! Monday - LIAC Power Red day Tuesday - sports team Tuesday Wednesday - wacky hair day Thursday - wear your swim stuff (suit, cap, goggles, shorts etc...) Friday - bring your pet to dryland! (If you don't have one - draw your imaginary one!) Ok - time to go feed Copper so he doesn't bark through all of dryland again! See you soon! Alexis Hi Everyone,
Congrats on an outstanding meet this past weekend! It was another long one, but we are happy with the swimmers' performances - and hope they are too! I have attached the final Silver entry to this email. It will go out first thing Thursday morning and it will be final at that time. If you see an error or have any questions please let me know by tomorrow. Please note Swimmers can only compete in up to 12 events at Silvers (2 Friday, 5 Saturday and 5 Sunday). If your swimmer qualified for 6 events on one day I left them out of the event they have either swum most recently or are the farthest to qualifying for JO's in. I will discuss with those who have two events on Friday whether they wish to swim both, or skip one, on an individual basis. If we need to scratch an event, we can address it and scratch that event when we get to the meet. Please note that there is no practice listed for Blue team tomorrow (Wednesday 2/12) because the Aquatic Center will be closing early. However, I would like to run a flip turns / open turns practice from 6:45 pm - 7:20 pm for 10& Unders and 7:20 pm - 7:55 pm for 11-12's on Wednesday night (2/12) at Stewart Ave. I hope your swimmer can make it! I know the practice schedule for next week is still up in the air on the website. We are working on it and should have something out to you shortly. Thanks for your patience. Here's to another great week! Alexis Hi Everyone,
Congrats on another great weekend of racing. I hope everyone made it home in time to catch most of the Superbowl! There's a lot to cover this week. Please read through and let me know if you have any questions. Y Middies I have attached an updated entry for the meet at YMiddies this weekend. If your swimmer is no longer able to attend a session of the meet please let me know ASAP and I will scratch them when we get there. Warm up times have been adjusted as follows. If there are any other changes I will let you know before Friday. Pool Address: YWCA of White Plains 515 North St. White Plains, NY 10605 Friday: Wear RED: arrive at 4:30 for 4:45 warm up Saturday: Wear WHITE: 13 over arrive at 6:45 for 7:00am warm up, 8 unders arrive at 11:15 for 11:30 warm up, 12 Under arrive at 1:45 for 2:00pm warm up Sunday: Wear BLUE: 13 over arrive at 6:45 for 7:00am warm up, 8 unders arrive at 11:15 for 11:30 warm up, 12 Under arrive at 1:45 for 2:00pm warm up Please keep in mind there are no drylands and no practice this Friday because of the meet. Silvers I have also attached a Draft of the Silver entry. Silvers will take place Friday February 28 - Sunday March 1 at Ward Melville High School. Swimmers can swim all events for which they qualify at Silvers (up to 12). If a swimmer has a JO cut in an event they cannot swim that event at silvers (they are too fast). Silvers is a Championship Meet so swimmers have been entered in all events for which they qualify and should plan to attend accordingly. Warm up times will be adjusted closer to the meet, however the breakdown of sessions is as follows: Friday Events 1 - 8 Saturday & Sunday AM 10& Under, 13-14 Saturday and Sunday PM 11-12, 15-18 Please let me know if your child is entered and cannot attend Silvers. 8&Unders Those of you with 8 & Unders please look for a separate email from me with information regarding 8 & Under champs. 8&Unders are not eligible for Bronze, so this will be their final championship meet of the short course season! Bronze There was no host for Bronze South so we will be attending Bronze Central at Lehman College March 20 - 22. I do not have information on warm-up times or session times yet, however usually 9-10 and 11-12 are in separate sessions Have a great week! I hope your week is off to a good start!
Attached is the final entry for the Condors Meet this weekend. There were some warm up time changes... Please see below. The address is Felix Festa Middle School: 30 Parrot Rd. West Nyack NY Friday: (Events 1 - 6) Wear RED Arrive at 5:30 for 5:45 warm up, 6:30 start Saturday: (10& Under session) Wear WHITE arrive at 7:15 for 7:30 warm up Saturday: (11-12 session) Wear WHITE arrive at 1:15 for 1:30 warm up Sunday: (10& Under session) Wear BLUE arrive at 7:15 for 7:30 warm up Sunday: (11-12 session) Wear BLUE arrive at 1:15 for 1:30 warm up As always if your swimmer can no longer attend please let me know and we will scratch them when we get there. Swimmers who are late will be scratched and will not be able to be added back into the meet. The Australia swim is tomorrow. Please make sure your child brings any poster or Australian / Animal spirit they would like, as well as their parka or an extra towel or sweatpants. We will be swimming in 2 or 3 heats to give everyone room, so they will be in and out of the water a bit. We are now at $17,000+ Thank you to all who have donated and shared with friends and family! Good luck to the swimmers in their 1,000 for time! https://give.everydayhero.com/au/australian-support Due to the meets this weekend and next, there is no practice or Dryland this Friday or next Friday. We will have dryland as usual on Monday Thanks - looking forward to fast swimming this weekend, and our exciting swim for Australia tomorrow! |
