Long Island Swimming Pool Swim Sunday June 5th - Saturday June 11th at your regularly scheduled class or practice Goal: $30,000 JOIN OUR SWIM The week of June 5 – 11, 2016 will be LIAC's Swim Across America week. Swimmers who participate will dedicate a lesson, practice, set, or the entire week, towards the fight against cancer. This year we are bringing back our special incentive… the swim off! The Swim School, Stroke Clinic, and LIAC will each fundraise as separate teams. The team who raises the most money will all be invited to the pool party! Last year the LIAC coaches even got involved… swimming laps for every participant in their group… maybe this year we will get the lesson instructors to do the same! This is really about doing something for a fantastic cause, but we do want to recognize your hard work and commitment to fundraising. Swimmers who raise the minimum of $100 will receive a t-shirt and cap, those who raise $200 will be invited to a pool party on June 11th, and those who raise $500 or more will receive a towel. Long Island Swimming has been involved with Swim Across America since 2001 and has raised over $200,000 to fight cancer in that time. With the addition of the Syosset Swim School and Stroke Clinics, this year, there are over 2,000 members of the Long Island Swimming family. We’re setting our goal at $30,000 for 2016. Just think about it… All it takes is each of us raising just $15.00 to meet our goal! Click on the register link and choose JOIN A TEAM. Type in the program you Are a part of “Long Island Aquatic Club” or “LIAC Stroke Clinic” or “Long Island Swim School”. Follow the directions to register and personalize your child’s fundraising page. You can honor a specific family member or friend, include a special message or photo, or just explain why the event is important to you. We encourage your swimmers to ask family and friends to donate to this wonderful cause. Share the link to your child’s personal fundraising page to start fundraising. This is a great opportunity for your child to use the sport they love to help others. Participation is easy, the cause is meaningful, and the process is fun! Together we really can make a difference. We look forward to Long Island Swimming making waves to fight cancer! |
