LIAC Swimmers Dominate December Up and Down the East Coast!

Working their way up the coast LIAC athletes competed at meets in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey and Buffalo during the month of December.

Kicking off a remarkable month of racing were Kristen Romano, Maggie Aroesty, Lauryn Johnson, and Timmy Marski who competed at the USA Swimming Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kristen Romano was LIAC’s top athlete of the weekend bringing home a BRONZE MEDAL and a new METRO SWIMMING RECORD in the 200 yd. backstroke.

In Maryland LIAC competed at the North Baltimore Holiday Invitational.  It was a true team effort as so many swimmers did their best to work together and take home the TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations Bridget Ye, Chloe Stepanek and Kristen Romano for setting new team and Metro Records.
Bridget broke the 11-12 girls 100IM with her fabulous swim of 1:01.88!!
Chloe's 1:48.39 blew the team record away and broke Olympian Lia Neal’s Metro Record!!  Kristen was on fire in Maryland setting 6 new 17-18 teams records and 5 new Open team records;

The 13-14 girls Relay of Briana Gellineau, Kiani Morsi, Sophia Gregorace and Chloe Stepanek broke the 400 Medley Relay with their amazing racing of 3:59.27!

LIAC continued the Relay winning streak in Buffalo with outstanding performances by our 11-12 girls who took home gold in both the 200 Freestyle and 200 Medley relays, and by the 13-14 boys who won the 400 Medley Relay.  Way to go Justen, Colin, Nick, Hans, Kailey, Ava, Madiosn, Kendall, and Sophie!

Ava Wang clinched the win in the 11-12 age group high point race in Buffalo.  She used two wins on the final night to propel her to the top of the podium!

While LIAC’s National Team was competing in Georgia our Age Group swimmers were racing at the Berkley Meet in New Jersey.  9 different LIAC swimmers won Gold at the meet.  Andrew Ting was our 11-12 year old winner and our top 10 & Unders were Cherry Lee, Keven Hertel, Matthew Franklin, Joseph Cash, Andrew Koek, Samantha Anderson, and Daniela Zunich.  Nice job everyone!

2016 has been a very successful year for our team and we look forward to an even faster and more fun 2017!  #SWIMFASTSWIMLIAC!
