Alek is a lifelong LIAC athlete who started in our Stroke Clinic program.  She credits the sport of swimming with helping her through good times and bad.  “Swimming has helped me make a swim family.  Since being a part of Metro helps me, then I would like to help Metro by being a Junior Rep,” she explains.

Alek is running on the platform of creating a more unified Metro Swimming LSC.  “In Metro, each different team is very different and has a different driving edge that makes it unique, fast, and competitive.  Though we are all Metro, we aren’t as united and bonded as many other places are,” she states in her application.  Alek continues, “Though we can’t change who is friends with who, it is our obligation to make ourselves a bigger team … so we may motivate each other and push each other to break more and more records.”

As a Metro Rep, Alek will be required to attend Metro Board Meetings, the USA Swimming Convention, and Zones.  Alek has made a commitment to help represent Metro Swimming.  Her Bio concludes, “I will bring fresh ideas to the meetings, as well as a say in what swimmers want.  I can also help with design and bring creative perspectives to the table.”

Let’s support Alek as she runs for office in Metro Swimming!  We know she will make LIAC and Metro proud when she is elected!
