LIAC swimmers Maggie Aroesty and Kristen Romano have been racing strong at Olympic Trials since the meet began on Sunday. Their hard work leading to this milestone meet paid off this morning with both girls swimming personal best times in the 200m Individual Medley. Maggie earned herself a coveted spot in the Semi Final this evening, moving up from her 20th place seed, to 7th place! Her time of 2:13.99 was the fastest swim by any woman 18 and under at the meet. The top 16 will race again this evening for a spot in the Finals tomorrow night. You can cheer for Maggie by watching online this evening around 9pm. Maggie's swim today followed a tenacious performance in the 100 Breaststroke yesterday morning. Originally seeded 30th in that event, she swam a best time, and just missed qualifying for the Semi-Final by .05, moving up to 18th place. Kristen's swim in the 200 IM this morning was a personal best and rocketed her from her 97th place seed into 41st place. She will compete again on Friday in her best event the 200 Backstroke. Stay tuned for more updates on the girls' success and keep cheering them on from home... SWIM FAST SWIM LIAC! Comments are closed.
