TV Interview with LIAC Swimmer Maggie Aroesty to Air on News 12 tonight! Long Island Aquatic Club swimmer Maggie Aroesty has had quite a year! Since achieving her first Olympic Trials cut last winter, she has qualified in three more events and has travelled to Singapore to compete for the USA Swimming National Junior Team. This past March, Maggie won FIVE individual gold medals at the Junior National Championships, along with a relay gold in the 400 medley relay with her LIAC teammates. Most impressively she set a new NATIONAL AGE GROUP RECORD in the 100 yard breaststroke as the first woman 16 years or younger to break the minute barrier in the event. Her time of 58.98 would have ranked her among the top 8 at the NCAA championships this year. Up next for Maggie is the Long Island Challenge meet held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center this weekend. Tickets can be purchased here. Maggie's interview with News12 will air tonight at 5:45 and 6:45pm. Comments are closed.
