Why choose Long Island Swimming?  It's not every 4 years, it's every day

8/6/2016

With the Rio Olympics poised to kick off this weekend the sport of swimming will be enjoying some well deserved time in the spotlight.  While swimming may only reach the front pages of the news a few times every four years, the journey to Olympic glory is achieved through a culmination of years of work, determination, and attention to detail.  As the saying goes, “It’s not every four years, it’s every day”.

At Long Island Swim School we take that statement to heart.  Our staff of coaches, instructors, and supervisors dedicate every day to giving your future champion the best start possible in the pool.  From day one we set goals for our students at every level.  We encourage every swimmer to achieve success starting with the most basic skills.  As you watch the best in the world compete this month, take a look beyond the stop watch and the world record line.  Look closely at the swimming itself and you will see what appears as an effortless whole stroke from afar, can be broken down into the precise coordination of kick, pull, breath control, and body position… The same skills your child learns at Long Island Swim School.

Long Island Swim School is the only learn to swim program in our area that teaches children to swim the same way Olympians do.  Every basic skill we teach, from blowing bubbles & running to the timing of butterfly, is the foundation of a larger more intricate whole stroke.  Our instructors break this down in a way that is both manageable and achievable for every young swimmer given the right amount of practice.   The consistency of this approach mimics the training and dedication of the best, and that’s how we get the best results.

People often ask us, “What makes Long Island Swim School different?”  The answer is easy.  Our professional staff are swimmers and coaches with the knowledge to give your child the skills to achieve more than just water safety.   We provide the best foundation possible for success.  Not every child will dream of Olympic glory, but shouldn’t every child have the foundation to take them there?    Whether the end goal is a competitive journey or a recreational one, whether your child competes in 2028 or they are happy playing in their home pool, the skills they learn at Long Island Swim School will take them as far as their dreams allow.

This month you will hear stories of Olympic triumph and heartbreak.  Gold medal winners and last place finishers alike will all be grateful for the opportunity to represent their countries and to have reached this monumental achievement in their lives.  They will thank their coaches and their families not only for their belief and encouragement, but for providing them with the foundation to achieve their dreams.  When you sign your child up for swim lessons with Long Island Swim School, you are giving them their chance at that same feeling of accomplishment.

Long Island Swim School is ready to take your child from beginner to Olympian… are you?   Don’t miss out… Sign up to swim today! www.longislandswimschool.com
