What a great weekend we had in Maryland! So many great racing moments, new Metro and LIAC records, NCSA and JO cut times, best times, and laughs. Everyone did a great job in their first actual travel meet in almost two years, and everyone gained valuable experience in how real travel meets work. They are long and tiring weekends, but we rose to the challenge! AG1 12 & under athletes had 161 swims with 121 personal best times and 21 NEW NCSA cut times! Congratulations to all on a terrific job! Shout out to Reid O'Connell for setting a new Metro record in 1650y freestyle! Reid also took an opportunity to set a new team record in the 200 breaststroke! Ryan Baldwin won all events putting his name on the LIAC record board in 50 and 100 fly! Fantastic 200 freestyle swim by Ryan Yao! Ryan reset his 1-month-old team record by over 2 seconds. 10 & Under boys: Jayden, Michael, Andrew, and Ryan rocked, breaking 400 freestyle team record! Congratulations to Isabella Law for making her first 13 yrs old Florida cut in 400 IM! It's time for you girl to start looking for plane tickets. Miko Japanese and Steakhouse is located at 379 South Oyster Bay Road in Plainview (Plainview Shopping Center) As you all already heard, Dom took another position outside the LIAC and will no longer be coaching with us. Dom and I worked together for over ten years. We both had an absolute blast assisting each other with Elite/ AG1 and Junior A/ AG2 groups since I was announced a Head Age Group Coach in 2017. I thank you, Dom, for his dedication and hard work, for his funny stories and silly jokes. I am definitely going to miss him on the pool deck. Starting Monday, Gabby Borutecene began her new role as the head coach of Age Group #2. Gabby also will be assisting me in working with AG1 athletes. This is a reunion of sorts, as "Big" Gabi and "Little" Gabby. We worked together at the top of LIAC's age group program from 2014-2017, and both are excited to continue developing each of our athletes as a whole person: their character, their values, their personality, and, of course, their strength, speed, endurance, and technique. Gabby and I are looking for an amazing rest of the season full of unforgettable experiences with everyone. Have a wonderful rest of the week. Best, Gabi & Gabby Hi Parents,
